8TEESH No.24 DJ Dreamcatcher (SlowBlow/tropicavern), Semi Deluxe & DJ CheersSneaky Pete's
Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh
For our 2nd Festival special we present special guest mixer DJ Dreamcatcher. By way of Australia via New York and now residing in London, a late night encounter with Dreamcatcher at Fumio’s internationally acclaimed COMADISCO has lead us here.

He is one half of SlowBlow, the DJing and party-throwing duo whose residency at Sydney’s Goodgod Small Club has gone from cult-underground-party, to righteous institution for heads and late night party fiends alike. Slow Blow (the party) has played host to Azari & III, In Flagranti, Soulwax & Softwar, and (as DJs) they’ve been signed to Modular and supported the likes of James Murphy, Moodyman and Horse Meat Disco.

Welcoming back Semi Deluxe, Tom last played the Crucial & Fresh Stage him and partner George Astroturf curated at Farmfestival Somerset. Alongside TEESH favourites RUF DUG (RUF KUTZ) & APIENTO (Test Pressing / International Feel Recordings).

Our Festival parties last year were incredible fun and this year looks to be no different!

Music for you..

DABJ is a 12” label that’s earned a “buy it on sight” tag for putting out indefinable and incredible house and techno releases that sell out instantly. The hottest label in Glasgow is actually run by old hands Kenny Grieve and Dan Monox, who kicked off their Monox night way back in 2000. Goes to show that great taste is timeless.

This lot are freaky basement techno curators.

Don your dashiki and get your boogie on.

12Slugabed, Lockah & Dressin Red at WitnessSneaky Pete's
Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh
Triple threat of late night heat from the Witness crew with 3 very special guests.

Blending influences both classic and contemporary, from the outermost reaches of dubstep, hip hop and beyond, Slugabed has received unanimous praise for his debut album ‘Time Time, released on the Ninja Tune label in May 2012.

Under his Slugabed alias, 23 year-old Greg Feldwick creates music which is at once complex, deep, thoughtful and above all distinctive. It channels the energy of the best of today’s bass music, through spacey bleeps and meditative melodies to explore the outermost reaches of electronic music making today.

South East England via North East Scotland is where Lockah aka Tom Banks now calls home. After launching his own Tuff Wax imprint, a self-pressed 7? debut in 2011 was followed by releases and remix work for the likes of Mad Decent, Owsla and Mishka NYC. 2013?s cinematic, synth-heavy EP ‘Only Built 4 Neon Nites’ cemented his position as one of the brightest faces amongst Brighton’s forward-thinking Donky Pitch crew.

Dressin Red is a producer based in Glasgow. We say ‘producer’ without any prefix because it’s quite hard to box him into any one genre: like many a young musician today, his stuff sounds to our ears as if it draws equal influence from hip hop as it does ambient/electronica as it does ’80s funk as it does rattling club trax as it does MIDI pop as it does… well, you get the picture. His sound design has the sort of pristine quality that people spend years perfecting, but Dressin Red is only 20 years old: who knows how good his music might sound in five years time?

13JUICE Festival Special: ANDREW (Huntley&Palmers), HAMMER (Thunder Disco Club) HI & SABERHÄGENSneaky Pete's
Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh
Making use of the Festival’s late licence this year, bringing two of our favourite Glasgow promoters together for one long messy night:

Andrew, head of the Huntleys + Palmers label. Known for being a few steps ahead of the curve, championing new sounds by hosting huge parties and releasing records regularly. Andrew’s sets are known for their eclecticism having a strong World music influence. Saberhägen makes up one half of H+P’s intrepid Hi & Saberhägen who just released, in our opinion, one of the years finest EP‘s.

Hammer – Thunder Disco Club The resident wild boys of Glasgow’s clubbing mecha Sub Club. Hammer has multiple releases on Feel my Bicep and makes up one half of this stellar club night.

8CUZ Feat. Mike Watt (The Stooges / Minutemen) & Sam Dook (the go! Team)Sneaky Pete's
Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh
‘CUZ’ are Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, The Stooges) and Sam Dook (The Go! Team), a collaboration which has produced this album, ‘tamatebako’- a conversation taking place over nearly eight years and several continents.

Weaving eclectic influence- from Japanese folklore (the ‘tamatebako’ is a Pandora-style box featured in the ‘Urashima Tar?’ legend), through ancient British landmarks, to personal loss- into a heady mix of whisky-gnarl, motoric riff, thrift-store percussion and toy synth, the effect is a tight, groovy, ever-elusive, outsider pop. Vocals come from both Watt and Dook, often within the same song, representing an unlikely pairing of throaty drawl and choirboy purity that works magnificently. Guest vocals come in the form of the esteemed beat writer Charley Plymell, and Kaori Tsuchida (The Go! Team), amongst others.
